Training and Fostering

Here are our courses that are for anyone involved in fostering.

You may also be interested in any on the previous pages.

Preparing for Permanency

This training aims to support foster parents when helping children and young people to move on, whether it is to adoption, another foster family, kinship or independent living.

We will consider the views of all the parties involved when a child is moving, look at current research, consider how to improve our practice and look at some of the common difficulties that can arise during this very delicate process.

Participants will have the opportunity to share ideas and strategies they have used previously and hear from others about what has (and has not) been successful.  We will also consider the feelings of everyone involved and how to manage these at what is often a very emotional time.

More training courses specifically for foster parents will be added as they are developed.
